The polymer tipped V-MAX is devastating on varmints such as prairie dogs and rarely leaves an exit hole on coyote-sized predators. Loaded for .223 Rem at a lower muzzle velocity and lower pressure limit than the comparable 5.56 cartridge but also works well in rifles chambered for 5.56 NATO. Muzzle velocity is 2,850 fps from a 16″ AR-15 barrel with a G1 Ballistic Coefficient of .255. The polymer tip provides an enhanced aerodynamic shape and is designed to be pushed back into the lead core on impact resulting in sudden expansion and tissue disruption.
